Seras is pleased to welcome the newest addition to our expanding vehicle fleet. We are reliably informed that this vehicle is the UK’s first CNG (gas) powered Iveco truck operating on a walking floor operation.
In addition, it includes a camera-monitoring system, and our transport team will be assessing the vehicle’s performance in coming months, using it strategically across our operations to improve efficiency and optimise load movements for our fleet.

The CNG Iveco vehicle is pictured here with one of our new trailers. This trailer forms part of a wider investment (of £850,000) in 12 new STAS walking floor “clean sweep” trailers, which are being deployed across our fleet, meaning total investment including CNG vehicle and trailers is over £1 million.
The trailer specification and procurement were shaped through close collaboration with driver representatives to ensure they meet both operational and driver needs. Highlighting our focus on improved safety for our drivers and site operators, which is at the heart of everything we do.

Here’s what the new trailer updates mean for our drivers:
Improved Apex Design
The apex roof bend has been reworked and is now part of the door mechanism. This will help reduce product build-up on the apex and lower the risk of it detaching during operation.
Upgraded Door Hinges
Additional hinge mechanisms have been fitted to prevent doors from jamming when opening via the airlock, making operation smoother and more reliable.
Safer Air Release Controls
All air release controls have been relocated to the middle of the trailer. This removes the need to access areas behind the rear wheels, helping our drivers stay out of exclusion zones at power stations and improving overall safety.

Alan Whitrow, Director of Operations at Seras said, “In line with our ESG policies we continue to invest in our drivers and fleet with another new vehicle and twelve new trailers. It’s fantastic to be the UK’s first operator with a CNG walking floor vehicle and reducing carbon emissions by up to 95% is something that Seras is extremely proud of.”
Luke Preston, Head of Logistics at Seras, said: “The work our transport teams have done to shape the specifications for both the CNG Iveco truck and the new STAS trailers is incredible. These continued investments in our fleet, safety, and operational efficiency reflect our commitment to supporting our drivers and transport teams, whilst helping Seras improve how we work.”
Look out for our CNG truck on the road, along with our new trailers as they join the fleet over the coming months.
