Time to Talk health and wellbeing

Time to talk group meeting cancer

At Seras, we recognise the importance of open dialogue and support around health and wellbeing topics that impact our colleagues. That’s why we’ve launched our ‘Time to Talk’ sessions, a series of team-led discussions designed to shine a light on important issues and foster a supportive, informed community in the workplace.

Our first session focused on menopause, offering a safe space for colleagues to share experiences, learn about symptoms, and discuss practical ways to support one another. We were delighted to see such strong engagement, both in person and online, and to hear a range of perspectives, including from those supporting partners, friends, or family members through peri-menopause and menopause. The session provided invaluable insights and encouraged us all to be more open and understanding.

Building on that momentum, our second Time to Talk session discussed prostate and testicular cancer, highlighting the importance of early detection, open conversation, and mutual support.

One of our team shared personal experiences of cancer, discussing everything from the importance of pushing for a quick diagnosis, to the symptoms, treatment, recovery and mental health aspects of dealing with cancer.

By raising awareness and breaking down stigma, we hope to empower our teams to look after their health and check in on their colleagues, both at work and beyond.

We’re committed to continuing these important conversations, with each session focusing on a different aspect of wellbeing. Together, we can create a culture where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported.

Nathalie Hoyle, People Manager and Wellbeing Lead said, “The team have embraced these sessions in a positive way. Talking and sharing experiences is key to our teams feeling supported with wellbeing and mental health challenges and I’m delighted that these new sessions are encouraging those all-important conversations.”
