Seras are celebrating a successful first year under the ownership of Pioneer Point Partners, with more than £13 million invested across the business. The investment has been focussed towards enhancing key areas of the business including biomass fuel production, waste wood processing plant and equipment, commercial skip business and the vehicle fleet.
Pioneer Point Partners, an infrastructure investment firm, acquired the former Esken Renewables on December 1st 2023. Since then, the company has also made significant progress in advancing its ESG strategy, HSEQ standards, employee development and charitable initiatives.
Highlights over the last twelve months include:
- Replacing 51 aged vehicles with a new and efficient fleet.
- Launching a commercial skip business in the Yorkshire market.
- Upgrading the Tilbury wood processing plant through a £2.3 million investment.
- Launching our HSEQ campaign Stop and Think including the Life Saving Rules.
- Gaining ISO accreditations (ISO 9001; ISO 14001; ISO 45001) at our Tilbury wood processing plant.
- Creation of our four ESG pillars.
- Training 31 Mental Health First Aiders across the business.
- Providing more than 100 hours of employee volunteering.
- Continued support in charitable events and volunteering with our nominated charities – Blesma, MS Society and Andy’s Man Club.
