Two Years Pioneer Point Partner Ownership

Seras marks second anniversary under Pioneer Point Partners Ownership.

Seras are celebrating a successful second year under the ownership of Pioneer Point Partners, with more than £26 million invested across the business. The investment has been focussed towards enhancing key areas of the business including biomass fuel production, waste wood processing plant and equipment, waste wood storage, as well as the commercial skip business and vehicle fleet.

Pioneer Point Partners, an infrastructure investment firm, acquired the former Esken Renewables on December 1st 2023. Since then, the company has made significant progress in advancing its ESG strategy, HSEQ standards, employee development and charitable initiatives.

Highlights over the last twelve months include:

  • Continued replacement of HGV fleet with £4.5 million invested in new Volvo and Scania trucks to increase fleet efficiencies.
  • Growth of commercial skip business in the Yorkshire market.
  • Investment of £2.5 million in the Widnes processing yard to replace the concrete surface and improve drainage.
  • Completion of the Tilbury wood processing plant upgrade and refurbishment, part of a £2.3 million investment. Tilbury has processed over 1.6 million tonnes of waste wood since operational commencement in 2017.
  • New office space and welfare facilities at our Swansea site.
  • Training over 30 + Mental Health First Aiders across the business.
  • Providing more than 200 + hours of employee volunteering.
  • Continued support in charitable events and volunteering with our nominated charities – Blesma, MS Society and Andy’s Man Club.
  • Our HSQE team launching our lifesaving rules to keep everyone working on our sites safe.
  • Achieving our ISO accreditations (ISO 9001; ISO 14001; ISO 45001) at our Tilbury wood processing plant and Viking House, Widnes.
  • Investment in new plant and equipment to keep our site operations running smoothly.
